InMotion Hosting Review (2026): Support, Refunds and a Renewal on the Card

Disclosure: WebFin is reader-supported. If you buy hosting through links on this page, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions vary between providers and our ratings do not — here’s our full disclosure.

This site exists to publish renewal prices, and for most of this year InMotion Hosting did not show one. It does now: Core renews at $10.99 on a three-year term. We compare InMotion directly with Bluehost, a Newfold Digital brand, in Bluehost vs InMotion.

Earlier reviews, including this one, could only describe the renewal as an increase. The plan cards now show it beside the intro price, and TechRadar lists every tier on a three-year term.

Is InMotion Hosting Good in 2026?

For a small business that values support, yes. Independent monitoring puts uptime between 99.97 and 99.99 percent, support runs 24/7 from United States staff across phone, chat and tickets, and the company has stayed independently owned for 25 years.

However, shared plans have no monthly billing option, response times sit mid-field at 300 to 500 milliseconds, and Core renews at $10.99 on a three-year term, higher on shorter ones.

The 90-Day Guarantee Has Conditions

Almost every review of InMotion leads with a 90-day money-back guarantee, and almost none of them states what it applies to.

In fact, it covers shared and WordPress plans on terms of six months or longer. Monthly plans get 30 days. VPS, dedicated and reseller plans get 30 days.

⚠️ Therefore the headline figure is real but conditional, and the condition excludes exactly the customers most likely to be testing rather than committing. If you buy monthly to try it, you have the same window as everywhere else.

Domain registration, SSL certificates and some other services sit outside the refund entirely, which is the usual pattern — we priced comparable exclusions elsewhere.

The Renewal, Now on the Plan Card

On a three-year term, Core opens at $3.19 and renews at $10.99, which is 3.4× over 36 months. According to TechRadar, Launch runs $4.99 to $13.99, Power $4.99 to $17.99 and Pro $10.99 to $24.99.

Core renews at a different rate on each term length, from $10.99 on the longest to $14.49 on the shortest, so the term you sign moves the second bill more than the plan does.

⚠️ Earlier this year the figure appeared in no source we read, and this review said so rather than estimate it. InMotion now shows it on the plan cards, so the gap has been replaced with the published rate — every other renewal we have found is here.

Older sources put entry pricing at $3.49 or $4.59 a month; the three-year plan cards now show $3.19 for Core.

One Plan With No Renewal Increase

UltraStack ONE is the exception and deserves naming.

It runs on VPS infrastructure from $33.33 a month on an annual term with no renewal price jump, and includes eight virtual CPUs, eight gigabytes of memory, NVMe storage and a 99.99 percent uptime commitment. We set InMotion against a managed cloud server in Cloudways vs InMotion.

A plan that costs the same in year two as in year one is rare enough that we checked it twice. The shared tiers now publish their renewal too, and this one publishes the absence of a change.

Speed

Every figure here comes from a named source with its window where one is stated.

In practice, published measurement puts shared hosting between 300 and 500 milliseconds, described as respectable for shared hosting but not competitive with cloud-native providers.

InMotion runs data centers in Los Angeles, Ashburn and Amsterdam, which gives both American coasts and a European option. For a site serving one continent that coverage is adequate. For global traffic it is thinner than hosts running a content network on every plan.

Uptime

Strong in most reporting, with one dissent worth naming.

Several 2026 sources put uptime between 99.97 and 99.99 percent, and one records 99.97 percent across a full year of monitoring a live site.

⚠️ However, another notes recent monitoring reports averaging closer to 99.5 percent, below the guaranteed figure. We print both because a gap of that size is the difference between under three hours of downtime a year and forty-four.

Support

This is what InMotion is bought for, and the evidence supports the reputation.

In particular, support runs 24 hours a day from United States staff, across phone, live chat and tickets. Reviews consistently describe response quality as the reason to choose it over cheaper competitors.

Nobody publishes controlled measurement of support response times for any host, so this criterion rests on description rather than data throughout our site.

Who Owns It

InMotion Hosting has remained independently owned for 25 years and has never been acquired by a hosting group.

That reads as a small thing until you set it beside what we found reviewing its competitors. One host we covered was bought and renamed while reviewers kept describing it as independent. Two others share a parent that recently upgraded one of them and not the other.

An owner who has not changed in 25 years means the review you read in 2023 still describes the same company.

What We Don’t Love

The renewal rises sharply on shorter terms, from $10.99 on three years to $14.49 on the shortest, so the headline assumes a long commitment.

No monthly billing on shared plans means the 30-day option and the 90-day option cannot both apply to you.

Some features carry add-on costs that competitors bundle, and reviews mention backup reliability as an area to check.

How We Research

Refund terms, plan structure and data centre locations come from published reviews that state what they read. Performance figures are attributed to named sources with their ranges shown rather than averaged. Renewal figures come from TechRadar and the plan cards, read on 20 September 2026; an earlier version of this review recorded them as unpublished.

We run no tests of any kind. Our five criteria are on our About page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is InMotion Hosting’s money-back guarantee?

Ninety days on shared and WordPress plans bought on terms of six months or longer. Monthly plans, VPS, dedicated and reseller plans get 30 days. Domains, SSL certificates and some other services sit outside it.

How much does InMotion Hosting cost after the first term?

Core renews at $10.99 on a three-year term and Launch at $13.99, according to TechRadar and the plan cards. On shorter terms Core renews higher, up to $14.49, so check the term in the cart.

Is InMotion Hosting fast?

Mid-field. Published measurement puts shared hosting between 300 and 500 milliseconds, described as respectable for shared hosting but behind cloud-native providers. Data centres sit in Los Angeles, Ashburn and Amsterdam.

Who owns InMotion Hosting?

Nobody above it. The company has been independently owned for 25 years and has never been acquired by a hosting group, which is unusual in a category where ownership changes often go unreported.

Does InMotion Hosting offer monthly billing?

Not on shared plans, which require annual or multi-year terms. That also means the 90-day guarantee and the monthly billing option are mutually exclusive, since the longer window requires a six-month commitment.

Summary

Strong US-based support and a long guarantee with conditions, attached to a renewal price we could not locate.

3.8

The Verdict

InMotion Hosting earns 3.8, and its renewal is now on the plan card where a buyer can price it. We set InMotion against managed WordPress at Kinsta in Kinsta vs InMotion.

Choose it if support quality decides your hosting, your traffic is American or European, and you are committing for six months or more so the long guarantee applies.

Skip it if you want to pay monthly, or if you plan a short term, because the renewal rises most on the shortest ones.
