In practice, Liquid Web sells no shared hosting at all. Its cheapest product is a self-managed virtual server at $3.50 a month, with no support for anything running on it. The same Liquid Web figures against a Cloudways server are in our Cloudways and Liquid Web comparison.
So there are two honest comparisons here. Against that unmanaged server, Hostinger is $18.36 cheaper across three years. Against the managed tier at $33.00 a month, it is $1,080.36 cheaper. The same Liquid Web figures against Kinsta are in our Kinsta and Liquid Web comparison.
Which Comparison Applies to You
Of course, one question decides it: can you administer a Linux server yourself.
If yes, the two companies are close on price. Three years costs $107.64 at Hostinger and $126.00 on Liquid Web’s unmanaged VPS, and the second gives you dedicated resources rather than a share of a machine. The same Liquid Web figures set against SiteGround are in our SiteGround and Liquid Web comparison.
If no, the comparable product is managed VPS at $33.00 a month. That comes to $1,188.00 across three years, eleven times what Hostinger charges.
Most people asking this question fall into the second group, which is why the headline gap is the large one.

The Short Answer
Hostinger, 4.2 against 3.8, and the scores are closer than the prices.
Liquid Web promises 100 percent uptime with credits, answers the phone within 59 seconds by contract, and gives you dedicated resources at every tier. Those are the product, not the marketing.

What the Extra Money Buys
In fact, Liquid Web makes two commitments that nothing else in these reviews matches.
The first is a 100 percent network and power uptime guarantee, backed by service credits at ten times the affected fee. Most hosts here commit to 99.9 or 99.99 percent and several offer no credits at all.
The second is a support response guarantee of 59 seconds by phone or chat. Across sixteen hosts we have reviewed, that is the sole response-time commitment with a number attached.
⚠️ Neither is a measurement. Both are contractual positions, which is more than a description of good support.
Where Hostinger Is Ahead
On price at every tier, and on evidence.
The benchmarking project we cite in every review ranks Hostinger fifth of 34 hosts. It does not publish figures for Liquid Web, because it tracks shared and managed WordPress plans rather than VPS and dedicated servers.
Hostinger also includes email hosting, WHOIS privacy and a free domain on annual plans. Liquid Web prices those separately or not at all. The same Liquid Web figures set against Newfold Digital’s Bluehost are in our Bluehost and Liquid Web comparison.
Where Neither Is Ahead
Neither publishes performance figures we can compare directly.
Hostinger’s own published numbers include a 246 millisecond server response and a 707 millisecond time to first byte from the same test window. Liquid Web’s sources describe dedicated hardware, privately owned data centers and no resource sharing by design, which is architecture rather than measurement.
⚠️ We are not converting an architectural claim into a speed figure. It may well be faster. We cannot show that it is.

Ownership
Hostinger is privately held in Vilnius, with a private equity firm holding around 30 percent by its own account. It owns its infrastructure and has no sister brands.
Liquid Web belongs to CloudOne Digital, formed when One Equity Partners acquired it in April 2023. The same group owns Nexcess, which sells managed WordPress on that infrastructure, and StellarWP, which publishes a large portfolio of WordPress plugins.
So one private equity owner sells you the hosting, the platform on top of it and the plugins inside it. None of that is hidden, and none of it appears at checkout — we traced the same shape at two other groups.
The Six-Year Picture
Meanwhile, across six years Hostinger costs $407.28 and Liquid Web’s managed VPS costs $2,376.00.
The ratio narrows from eleven to 5.8 because Hostinger’s own renewal arrives at month 49, while Liquid Web charges the same rate throughout.
⚠️ That flat pricing is worth noting on its own. No source we read describes a renewal increase on Liquid Web plans, though we could not confirm that directly and treat it as an absence of evidence — the full field is here.

When to Choose Liquid Web Instead
Downtime costs you money you can calculate. That is the entire case for the uptime credits, and it is a real one for a store or a booking system.
You need dedicated resources rather than a share of a machine, and you have already hit a ceiling somewhere else.
You can administer a server, in which case the unmanaged tier costs $18.36 more than Hostinger across three years and gives you a machine of your own.
How We Research
Every figure comes from the two underlying reviews, where each is attributed to a named source with its window. Where our usual benchmark covers one host and not the other, we say so rather than presenting both columns as equally documented. We run no tests of our own.
Our criteria are on our About page. The long versions are in our Hostinger review and our Liquid Web review.
Frequently Asked Questions
Hostinger, at every tier, though the margin varies enormously. Against Liquid Web’s unmanaged VPS the three-year gap is $18.36. Against its managed VPS the same gap is $1,080.36.
No. Its cheapest product is a self-managed virtual server at $3.50 a month with no support for what runs on it. The lowest managed tier costs $33.00 a month.
Liquid Web, by a wide margin. It promises 100 percent network and power uptime with service credits at ten times the affected fee. Hostinger commits to 99.9 percent, which permits about 8.8 hours of downtime a year.
Liquid Web does, and guarantees a response within 59 seconds by phone or chat. That is the only numeric response-time commitment across the sixteen hosts we have reviewed. Hostinger runs chat and email only.
CloudOne Digital, formed when One Equity Partners acquired it in April 2023. The same group owns Nexcess and StellarWP, which means one owner covers the hosting, the WordPress platform and a portfolio of plugins.
The Verdict
Hostinger, 4.2 against 3.8, and the scores are closer than the prices.
For a blog, a portfolio or a small business site, eleven times the money buys guarantees you will probably never claim. For an operation where an hour of downtime has a price tag, those guarantees are the product.
Choose Hostinger unless you can name what downtime costs you. If you can name it, the arithmetic changes and so does the answer.
