Best Reseller Hosting (2026): The License and the Renewal Decide It

The best hosting for reseller hosting is chosen on two numbers that sit outside the plan price: what the billing software costs, and what the plan renews at. A reseller plan at $10.00 a month with WHMCS included can cost less than one at half the price without it. And a plan that opens at $8.99 and renews at $29.95 removes your margin in year two, after you have already quoted your clients. Everything else in this market is a feature list. For personal portfolios rather than client work, see the best hosting for multiple sites.

Best Reseller Hosting: The Short Answer

ChemiCloud, for most people starting out. Every reseller plan includes WHM, cPanel and a free WHMCS or Blesta license, the accounts are resource-isolated, and the refund window runs 45 days. InterServer is the pick when price stability matters more, because its reseller plan is locked at $19.95 rather than promotional.

See ChemiCloud Reseller Plans →
WHM, cPanel and a WHMCS or Blesta license on every plan. Kickstart opens at $8.99 and renews at $29.95.

The Two Costs That Decide This

Billing software is the first. WHMCS handles invoices, signups and suspensions, and without it you are reconciling client payments by hand. Hosts that bundle it change the arithmetic completely, which is why Hostwinds sells a plain reseller plan and a white-label one at $10.00 with WHMCS, and why GreenGeeks includes the license at $19.95.

The renewal is the second, and it bites harder here than anywhere else on this site. A normal buyer absorbs a renewal increase privately. A reseller has already published prices to clients, so the increase lands on a margin rather than a household budget. Our page on hosting renewal prices now tracks the reseller rows alongside the shared ones.

⚠️ The cPanel license sits behind both. Its per-account pricing is what pushed several hosts to build their own panels, and it is the reason a cheap reseller plan can carry an account cap that a dearer one does not. Ask what happens at the cap before you sell the thirtieth account.

What a reseller plan costs once billing software and renewal are added

ChemiCloud: Everything Bundled, With a Renewal to Watch

ChemiCloud sells four reseller plans, and every one includes WHM, cPanel, LiteSpeed, NVMe storage and a free WHMCS or Blesta license. Accounts get dedicated memory and processor under CloudLinux isolation, so one client cannot starve another. The white label is complete, with private nameservers and your branding inside WHMCS.

Strengths. Billing software included, which is the largest hidden cost in this category. Resource isolation per account. A 45-day refund window, the longest among our picks. Domain reselling included, so the margin is not only on hosting.

Weaknesses. The entry plan opens at $8.99 and renews at $29.95, and the term behind that figure is not stated in the source we read. Its shared-hosting sibling failed a load test in the 2026 benchmarks at a 4.2% error rate, which is worth knowing before you put thirty client sites on the same infrastructure.

Choose it if you want to start reselling this week without buying licenses. Skip it if your clients need guaranteed headroom under traffic. Our ChemiCloud review has the full scoring, and our comparison of SiteGround against ChemiCloud covers that load result.

InterServer: The Price Lock Applies Here Too

InterServer sells reseller hosting at $19.95 with the price locked, which is the same policy that makes its shared plan interesting at $2.50. For a reseller that lock is worth more than a discount, because it lets you publish client prices and keep them.

Strengths. A locked rate rather than a promotion. Independent since 1999, and it owns its data centers. Phone, chat and tickets around the clock, which matters when a client escalates to you at midnight.

Weaknesses. No bundled billing software, so add WHMCS to the real cost. The benchmarks place it mid-field rather than fast, and there is no white-label layer as complete as the cloud-first hosts offer.

Choose it if predictable pricing is the whole point. Skip it if you need WHMCS included. Our InterServer review explains how the lock works.

Scala Hosting: White Label Without a cPanel License

Scala runs SPanel, built in-house, which removes the cPanel license from the equation entirely. Its reseller and VPS products are white-label, resource-isolated and priced per unit on the VPS side: $36.00 a year per processor core and $12.00 a year per gigabyte of memory, adjustable whenever a client grows.

Strengths. No per-account panel license to price in. Resources you can tune for one seasonal client without moving everyone. Better measured performance than most of this list, at 465 ms to first byte and 8.8 of 10 on server hardware in the 2026 benchmarks.

Weaknesses. SPanel is proprietary, so clients who leave you leave a panel they cannot take with them, and staff you hire will not know it. Ownership is not documented in anything we read.

Choose it if you want margin without license fees. Skip it if your clients specifically expect cPanel. Our Scala Hosting review covers the VPS line.

SPanel instead of cPanel, so no per-account license. VPS resources at $36.00 a year per core.

Hostwinds: The Cheapest Way to Test the Model

Hostwinds splits the product in two. The plain reseller plan lets you sell its shared hosting, and the white-label plan at $10.00 adds WHMCS and your own branding. For testing whether reselling suits you at all, that is the lowest-risk entry on this list.

Strengths. WHMCS included on the white-label tier at a price below what the license alone usually costs. A gentle renewal on its shared line, at 1.5× over 12 months. Phone support alongside chat and tickets.

Weaknesses. ⚠️ The refund window is disputed in our own table: one source says 30 days and two say three. Confirm it in writing before paying, because a reseller commitment is larger than a single site.

Choose it if you are testing the idea. Skip it if you need a refund policy you can quote back. Our Hostwinds review records the conflict.

GreenGeeks and Namecheap: The Familiar Options

GreenGeeks sells reseller hosting at $19.95 with WHMCS included, which puts it level with InterServer once the license is priced in, and it carries an environmental positioning that some client bases respond to. Its renewal figures moved this year: the shared Lite plan now renews at $13.95, up from $12.95, and sources disagree on which term its $2.95 intro rate requires.

Namecheap runs the familiar cPanel and WHM stack with white-label support, private nameservers and branding inside WHM. It is the option most freelancers already have an account with, and its shared plan renews at $4.88 rather than climbing. The ownership picture changed in 2025, when CVC Capital Partners took a majority stake, which our Namecheap review covers.

Neither is the strongest pick here, and both are reasonable if you already work with them. The reason to switch is bundled billing or a locked price, not the panel. Our roundup of cheap web hosting covers the shared tiers underneath these plans.

What to Check Before You Sell the First Account

The account cap. Plans are sold as unlimited or as a number of cPanel accounts. Find out which, and what an extra account costs once you pass it.

The renewal, in writing. You are publishing prices to clients for a year or more. A plan that renews at three times its intro rate is a margin problem you cannot pass on quietly.

Who answers your client at 2am. Under white label, you do. Check whether your host offers a channel you can escalate through quickly, and whether it is a phone line or a ticket queue. No controlled test of hosting support exists in the sources we found, so the channel list is what you are buying.

What happens when a client leaves. A cPanel account exports cleanly. A proprietary panel does not, and that is a conversation worth having before the client has it with you.

How We Research

We run no speed or uptime tests. Prices come from the providers’ own pages and from reseller roundups published this year, read on 20 September 2026. Where a term behind a renewal figure is not stated, we say so rather than assuming one, and the reseller rows now sit in the same renewal table as the shared plans.

Every host here appears in our review section, and we do not name providers we have not scored. The criteria behind those scores are on our about page. For the agency version of this question, which is a different model, see hosting for agencies.

Reseller Hosting FAQ

Do I need WHMCS to resell hosting?

Not technically, but without it you handle invoices, signups and suspensions by hand. That is why bundled licenses matter more than the plan price. Hostwinds includes WHMCS on its white-label plan at $10.00, and ChemiCloud and GreenGeeks include a license as well.

What is the difference between reseller and white label?

A plain reseller plan lets you sell the host’s service, sometimes with its branding visible. White label hides the host entirely: private nameservers, your logo in the panel, your name on the invoice. Clients of a white-label reseller never learn who runs the servers.

Which reseller plan is cheapest over three years?

InterServer at $19.95 locked, if you already own billing software. Once WHMCS is priced in, a bundled plan can cost less overall even at a higher headline. Check the renewal before comparing, because a plan at $8.99 renewing at $29.95 changes the ranking.

Can I use a normal shared plan to host client sites?

You can host sites, but you cannot give clients their own accounts, and billing is yours to manage. A reseller plan exists for account separation and the WHM layer above it. For a handful of sites the agency model is often simpler than reselling.

What happens to my clients if I stop?

cPanel accounts export in a standard format any cPanel host will accept, which makes a handover routine. A proprietary panel like SPanel does not, so migrating clients off it means rebuilding accounts. Decide that before you sell the first one, not after.

The Verdict

ChemiCloud is the default for a new reseller, because the license that eats margin is included and the accounts are isolated from each other. Its renewal deserves a note in your calendar: $8.99 becomes $29.95, and the term behind that is not published.

InterServer is the pick for anyone who has published a price list and wants to keep it, at $19.95 locked. Scala suits resellers who would rather not pay per-account panel licenses at all. And the pattern behind all of it is the one this site keeps finding: the advertised price is for year one, and the business you are building runs longer than that. Our page on what web hosting costs prices the rest.
