Bluehost vs ChemiCloud (2026): Three Cheap Years, Then Unknown

Bluehost vs ChemiCloud is cheap-and-unknown against dearer-and-measured. ChemiCloud Starter costs $89.64 for 36 months paid up front, against $143.64 for Bluehost Starter on its three-year term. After that, Bluehost renews at a published $9.99. ChemiCloud shows its renewal only at checkout, and third-party pages quote anything from $9.95 to $12.95, which lands in the same range. Under load the two are far apart: Bluehost passed the benchmark test at 41 ms without an error, and ChemiCloud answered at 1,068 ms with 4.2% of requests failing. The same ChemiCloud figures against a Cloudways server are in our Cloudways and ChemiCloud comparison.

Bluehost vs ChemiCloud: The Short Answer

Bluehost, at 4.0 against 3.8 in our reviews. It holds up under load, records 99.99% uptime against 99.76%, publishes its renewal and answers the phone. ChemiCloud is the cheaper choice for three years on a quiet site, and it gives 45 days to change your mind.

Three year cost of both hosts and the renewal range that follows

Cheaper for Three Years, Then the Same Range

ChemiCloud bills all 36 months at $2.49, which is $89.64, and the promotion covers the whole stretch. Bluehost bills 36 months at $3.99, which is $143.64, and renews at $9.99 afterward. For the first three years ChemiCloud is clearly cheaper, and our page on what web hosting costs runs both shapes further.

Month 37 is where the picture blurs. ChemiCloud does not print its renewal. The plan table shows a struck-through $11.95 beside the promotion, and the footnote says the renewal appears at checkout and in the client area. Third-party pages quote $9.95, $11.95 and $12.95, which is 4.0× to 5.2× over 36 months. So after three years ChemiCloud may cost a few cents less than Bluehost, or three dollars a month more.

⚠️ Save the ChemiCloud checkout summary before you pay, because it is the only place the company states the figure. Bluehost prices are also disputed between sources: its help page gives $3.99 renewing at $9.99, while a July 2026 review quotes $1.99 renewing at $8.99. Our page on hosting renewal prices records both.

Under Load, Not Close

We run no tests, so these figures belong to Hostingstep. Its load test ramps to 100 concurrent visitors over 60 seconds. Bluehost, rerun after its move to Oracle Cloud, answered at 41 ms with no errors. ChemiCloud answered at 1,068 ms. And 4.2% of its requests failed. A 4% failure rate is invisible on a quiet day and expensive on the morning a newsletter lands. Our roundup of hosting for high traffic ranks hosts by exactly this result.

Uptime follows the same direction. Bluehost records 99.99% over 9 outages between November 2025 and August 2026. ChemiCloud records 99.76%, and the same project, which has tracked it since 2021, scores it 6.1 of 10 overall and describes the trend as declining.

⚠️ On a single request the gap narrows. ChemiCloud answers globally in 460 ms, and Bluehost’s cached global figure is 224 ms. For a small brochure site that rarely sees more than a few visitors at once, the load result matters less than the price. Our guide to reading an uptime report explains why 99.76% and 99.99% are further apart than they look.

Published load test, uptime and response results for both hosts

What 99.76% Means in Hours

Percentages near 100 hide their size. A year holds 525,600 minutes, so 99.99% allows about 53 minutes of downtime and 99.76% allows about 21 hours. That is the difference between a site that is almost never down and one that is down for most of a day, spread across the year.

Neither figure predicts your site exactly, and a single project’s window is a sample rather than a promise. Still, a gap of that size, pointing the same way as the load result, is hard to explain away.

$89.64 for 36 months prepaid and a 45-day refund window. The renewal rate appears at checkout rather than on the pricing page.

Which Result Matters for Your Site

For a brochure site or a small blog behind a page cache, most visitors receive a stored copy and the server rarely meets a hundred people at once. On a site like that, the first three years at $89.64 are the number that shows up, and ChemiCloud’s load result may never be tested in practice.

For a store, a membership site or anything with a launch planned, the load result is the one to weigh. Carts and logins bypass the cache, so the server does the work on every request. A 4% failure rate then lands on the busiest page at the most valuable moment. That is the case where Bluehost’s higher price buys something concrete.

Month 37: What to Do Before It Arrives

A ChemiCloud buyer should treat the renewal as an open question and plan for it. Save the checkout summary on day one, note the renewal date, and ask support in writing a few months before it which rate will apply. If the answer is near the top of the quoted range, you still have time to move.

A Bluehost buyer already knows the figure, which is the practical value of a published renewal. What remains is to decline the add-ons and check whether a shorter or longer term suits you better when the time comes. Our guide to choosing a hosting plan covers that decision.

Refunds and Prepayment

ChemiCloud refunds for 45 days, excluding domains and add-ons. Bluehost refunds for 30 days and keeps $15.99 for the free domain if you cancel early. On the window alone, ChemiCloud is the better deal.

The prepayment changes the weight of that window. ChemiCloud’s lowest rate means paying all 36 months on day one, and six weeks is the part of that commitment you can undo. Bluehost’s best rate also needs 36 months, so the exposure is similar, but the renewal waiting at the end of it is known. Our guide to canceling hosting and getting a refund covers the order that keeps the domain safe.

Limits and Everyday Use

ChemiCloud Starter states its limits: one website, 20 GB of NVMe storage, ten days of backups and a guidance figure of about 25,000 monthly visits. It sells extra inodes at $2.95 a month. Bluehost Starter lists 10 GB of NVMe storage and caps each mailbox at 100 MB, and its own help pages give its inode limits three different ways.

Both run cPanel, so accounts export in a standard format and leaving is routine. Bluehost wraps cPanel in a WordPress dashboard that also sells add-ons, including a premium certificate at $89.88 that most sites do not need. ChemiCloud sells less after checkout. Our piece on what unlimited hosting means covers the Bluehost inode figures.

Support

Bluehost answers phone and chat around the clock. ChemiCloud answers chat and tickets around the clock, and reviewers praise it consistently, but there is no phone line. Neither publishes a measured response time, and no controlled test of hosting support exists in the sources we found.

Consistent praise across reviews is worth something even without a stopwatch, and ChemiCloud earns it. The missing phone line matters mainly to owners who want to talk a problem through in one call. For anyone comfortable with a written thread, which is also easier to follow later, the channel difference is smaller than it looks on a feature table.

Who Owns Them

Bluehost has belonged to Newfold Digital since 2021, alongside HostGator and Yoast SEO, and who owns Bluehost traces the group. ChemiCloud’s site carries a copyright line for CChosting, Inc., and beyond that its ownership is not documented in anything we read.

That gap matters more than usual here, because ChemiCloud’s best rate asks for three years in advance and its renewal policy is not written down. A buyer is trusting both the host and whoever sets its prices in year four.

Where Each One Is Weakest

ChemiCloud is weakest under load and at renewal. It failed 4.2% of requests at 100 visitors, and its uptime of 99.76% is trending down. Its second-term price appears only at checkout. Together those add up to real uncertainty about the years ahead.

Bluehost is weakest on price and after checkout. It costs more for the first three years, keeps part of a refund for the free domain, and its dashboard sells add-ons most sites never need. Our page on hidden hosting fees collects them.

Winners by Category

First three years: ChemiCloud, at $89.64 against $143.64. Renewal transparency: Bluehost, which prints $9.99. Load handling: Bluehost, at 41 ms without errors. Uptime: Bluehost, at 99.99% against 99.76%. Refund window: ChemiCloud, at 45 days. Support channels: Bluehost, with a phone line. Published limits: ChemiCloud, which states sites, storage and backups.

When to Choose ChemiCloud Instead

Take ChemiCloud for a quiet site on a tight budget. Three years for $89.64 is hard to beat, the 45-day window gives time to test, and the plan page says what you are allowed to use. Save the checkout summary so you know what year four costs. Our comparison of SiteGround against ChemiCloud makes the same trade with another host.

Take Bluehost for anything that gets busy or takes orders, or if you want the renewal in writing. For the budget end of the field, see our roundup of cheap web hosting. Our comparison of Bluehost against Namecheap weighs it against a cheaper renewal that is published.

How We Research

We run no tests. Load, uptime and response figures come from Hostingstep’s 2026 benchmarks with their windows. Prices, limits and refund terms come from the providers’ own pages, read on 20 September 2026. The ChemiCloud renewal range comes from third-party pages, because the company shows it only at checkout.

Where sources disagree, as they do on both renewals, we print the readings rather than choose one. The criteria behind our scores are on our about page, and the full workings are in our ChemiCloud review.

Bluehost vs ChemiCloud FAQ

Which is cheaper, Bluehost or ChemiCloud?

ChemiCloud for the first three years, at $89.64 against $143.64 on 36-month terms. After that it depends on a renewal ChemiCloud shows only at checkout, quoted by third parties at $9.95 to $12.95, against Bluehost’s published $9.99.

Bluehost, by a wide margin. In the 2026 benchmarks it served the load test at 41 ms with no errors, while ChemiCloud answered at 1,068 ms with 4.2% of requests failing. For a site that gets bursts of visitors, that is the deciding figure.

How reliable is ChemiCloud?

It records 99.76% uptime in the benchmark project we cite, which has tracked it since 2021, scores it 6.1 of 10 overall and describes a declining trend. Bluehost records 99.99% over the same kind of window.

Which has the better refund policy?

ChemiCloud, at 45 days, excluding domains and add-ons. Bluehost refunds for 30 days and keeps $15.99 for a free domain if you cancel early. Both need a 36-month prepayment for their lowest rate.

Who owns Bluehost and ChemiCloud?

Bluehost belongs to Newfold Digital, which also owns HostGator and Yoast SEO. ChemiCloud’s site carries a copyright line for CChosting, Inc., and its ownership beyond that is not documented in anything we read.

The Verdict

Bluehost takes this, at 4.0 against 3.8, and the reason is what happens when a site gets busy. A clean load result, 99.99% uptime and a renewal printed in advance outweigh ChemiCloud’s lower price for three years. That price is followed by a figure nobody can read until checkout. The same host against Hostinger is priced in Hostinger vs ChemiCloud.

ChemiCloud is the right buy for a small, quiet site where $89.64 across three years matters more than headroom. Keep the checkout summary, and revisit the decision before month 37. If you move later, our guide to migrating web hosting covers the order.
